So what should your affiliate toolkit contain for you to become a successful affiliate? To become successful as an affiliate you need to deal in bulk. A few sales here and there sporadically won’t replace your income and set you free. So the first thing you need is a clearly defined goal with affiliate marketing. It can be easy to meander around and still not accomplish much as an affiliate if you haven’t set yourself some parameters for success.
For example, what kind of income do you want? When do you want it by? By clearly defining your short, medium and long terms goals for an affiliate business, you’re already far ahead of the crowd who just bustle in and quit only a few months later.
By setting out your plan and creating a vision for your business, you are telling yourself what you want to achieve. Without a clearly defined goal of some kind, it’s impossible to hit it.
To define a clear focus for your business and define some attainable goals early on will give you motivation and momentum. Learn how to celebrate the small successes, and sooner or later you’ll be celebrating the larger ones too. One of the best books I’ve personally found on the subject of developing a focused mindset is Stuart Lichtman’s book How To Get Lots Of Money For Anything Fast. Despite the trite title, it’s a superb book for communicating with all parts of your mind and getting so focused that your subconscious mind automatically flags up your goal and keeps it in the forefront of your mind.
Affiliate Toolkit: Software
Most affiliates will attract an audience in some way either through paid marketing or some kind of organic marketing, such as blogging. One of the best ways to build a following online is to have an email list of subscribers who you can communicate with and build up some level of trust by providing value.
As a beginner your list won’t be very big. But longer terms affiliates will have tens of thousands of subscribers on their email list. This gives them the opportunity to provide value to them on a regular basis and promote their affiliate products.
An email autoresponder is therefore one of the best investments you can make as an affiliate marketer. It puts you in charge of your traffic so you’re not relying on paid marketing or organic traffic. Of course you still need traffic to build your email list, but once you have it you can communicate freely with your subscribers and promote affiliate products to a growing audience.
Affiliate Toolkit: Training & Support
One of the best things I’ve found online was a community of online support. You can also access all the tools and software you’ll need to build an online business from scratch through this community. For more information and access click on the image below and enter your details.
Help and support with your affiliate business is massively beneficial. Without help it’s a much longer and more difficult journey dissecting all the videos on YouTube and trying to figure everything out by yourself. I wasted years of my life trying to do everything alone. It wasn’t until I discovered this community that things began to change for me. See my about me page.
Commitment
Building an affiliate business can be tough. You need to make a commitment to it over the longer term. The affiliate marketing success rate is around 5% which means you’ll need to be in a tiny minority if you’re going to succeed. This is more possible if you commit to learning over several months and laying down the groundwork you’ll need to become successful in the longer term.
If you rush into affiliate marketing looking for quick and easy solutions, you’re more than likely to be disappointed.
It’s also far easier to commit with a group of online business owners to connect with too. I now have several mentors I connect with and an accountability “buddy” I found through the program I recommend here.
Summary
That’s a pretty short list for a tool kit for success as an affiliate I know. But really I’d have to say success at affiliate marketing is about finding the right products and services to promote and the right way to promote them for you. This will be different for everyone depending on their circumstances. If you’re using paid marketing and building an email list, you can build a business much more quickly than if you’re a blogger selling low value products. Ideally use subscription affiliate products and high ticket affiliate products too, which you’ll find through this online community.
